Thanks to HOMELAND
A big thank you to Carl and guys for all you do for our military families. We were honored to have Homeland perform at several ceremonies for the Marine Osprey V-22 crash victims, including my son Kelly, which happened in April and December, 2000. HOMELAND's songs and videos are very heart warming, especially knowing how much you all cared about our families. Every song you sing, every video you've made for us, was from the heart. HOMELAND's dedication and patriotism of keeping our family's memory alive has blessed us all. Love you guys, Semper Fi! Ron & Donna Harter, Florence, SC (Proud Parents of Cpl Kelly S. Keith, USMC 1/7/78-4/8/00)
November 10th, 2009- HOMELAND performed for a group of real American heroes from WWII. These men fought at Guadalcanal, Peleliu, Okinawa and Cape Gloucester with the 1st Marine Division's G/2/5. Although now in their 80's and 90th, they are as spirited as the day they joined the Marine Corps.
Hosted by Ms. Donna Awtrey, whose father, Al Awtrey, is a G/2/5 Marine and her fiancee, Sid Trapp, did a magnificent job of organizing and coordinating activities. These events included a luncheon at The Club, a formal dinner at the MARRIOTT and as honored participants in the National Veterans Day Parade in Birmingham.
HOMELAND participated with a special concert and aligning them with our good friend David Lane to pull their float with his patriotically decorated HUMVEE; a real eye catcher to say the least. America is losing our WWII veterans at the rate of 1,200 per day and we are truly blessed to have honored them is such a special way. SEMPER - FIDELIS
Guys - I am just now getting to my e-mail after the G/2/5 Reunion. I cannot thank HOMELAND enough for the beautiful, heart warming presentation at The Club! I prayed before we started our five day schedule of events that God would place Himself in the center of everything we had planned for these guys. Boy, did He ever!!
Sid and I still cannot quit talking about all the goodwill that was poured out and the amazing seeds that were sown in so many hearts. I think the angels put Noah and Bob Crowton at the same table. Bob had the lower part of his face shot away and laid in a field all night. When Bill Lynne, one of our Corpsman also present at the luncheon, found him, he thought there was no way he would survive. He was hospitalized for two years and I am sure he and Noah had some similar experiences and emotions.
All I can say is WOW and THANK YOU for everything. You guys are doing a great service to help our veteran's know they are not forgotten! God Bless all of you!!
